APHENA ANNOUNCES THE LAUNCH OF SOFTPLOT 10.0

REFERENCE: Aphena 165 / DATE: 15th July 2024 / RELEASE: Immediate

SoftPlot 10 builds on the stability and maturity of the SoftPlot 9 family of products. 64-bit and 32-bit native versions of the product are now available to to support all versions of Windows from 11 down to XP. SoftPlot 10 has been 4 years in development, which represents a significant investment by Aphena in their flagship product line.

SoftPlot is a PC Windows application for RF and Microwave engineers with the ability to capture test equipment measurement data using its integral drivers. Unlike GPIB-based test software, SoftPlot requires no programming to use it. Simple controls enable the user to extract data and create the desired graphical representation. Once captured, SoftPlot allows traces to be scaled and formatted off-line for optimum presentation and then be embedded into documents, presentations and spreadsheets. Furthermore the data can also be exported to popular CAD and Maths packages for simulation and advanced processing.

A full feature set is provided as standard including markers, test limits, trace maths and text annotation. SoftPlot can capture data from spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, modulation analyzers and oscilloscopes from the major manufacturers including Advantest, Anritsu, Keysight, Aeroflex, Rhode and Schwarz and Tektronix. There is also support for IQ downloads to signal generators.

The SoftPlot product family has a new addition, named SoftPlot *Ultra*. This version handles more data stores, permitting up to 32-port S-parameter files to be handled. There is also a new time-domain transform feature, to convert frequency sweeps from your Vector network analyzer into a time response. Often, this is a cost-option on a VNA, and now SoftPlot can help you fulfil the same function. Very useful for debugging mismatches in RF circuits.

The graphical display now has the concept of channels. A grid of up to 16 charts can be configured, each with independent data, markers, limits, graph types and scales.

Pricing for the SoftPlot 10 family is currently held the same as SoftPlot 9. The new SoftPlot *Ultra* 10 is available from stock at £1900 + VAT, which includes 1 year maintenance. A National Instruments or Keysight GPIB card, or equivalent, may be required for instrument data transfers and must be purchased separately.
