Introducing the premier version of SoftPlot :- Test automation and documentation for RF Engineers, in one easy-to-use package

The SoftPlot *Ultra* Advantage
SoftPlot *Ultra* has all the capabilities of regular SoftPlot, combined with the following extra functionality:
- 1024 Trace Stores. Regular SoftPlot has 16 stores, and SoftPlot +Plus+ has 100 trace stores; but with 1024 stores it is possible to characterise 32-port devices, or accumulate large amounts of trend data, etc.

- Independent X-axis Data for each store. Regular SoftPlot has a common X-axis for all stores, which is fine for s-parameter data. Here this has been improved to allow each store to have fully independent values and numbers of points.

- Scripting. SoftPlot *Ultra* scripts can be used to simply learn and replay frequently-used menu selections and button clicks. But more than that, test automation can be achieved by sequencing GPIB commands to test equipment, and this can be mixed with SoftPlot functions to allow results to be gathered and graphed interactively. A fully-featured scripting editor allows new scripts to be composed, tested and debugged.

Sophisticated tests can be put together quickly and efficiently. Multiple items of test equipment can be controlled together. Variables can be configured to allow any script to run with user-defined parameters.
- Time Domain Transformation. A completely new feature in the SoftPlot family is the ability to transform frequency-domain S-parameter sweeps into time domain. This is a feature often found as an option on high-end Vector Network Analyzers. Having the same capability built into SoftPlot brings Time-Domain capability to any VNA. Typically it finds value in analysing features and discontinuities in printed circuit board traces, cables, connectors etc., where the position of a discontinuity can be pin-pointed within the component. It is possible to measure the impedance of a cable or track, and determine whether a discontinuity is inductive or capacitive. Combine this capability with multiple channels in SoftPlot 10, so that the frequency domain sweep and the time-domain result can be displayed side-by-side.
